 Kolkata to Dhaka on Cycle

 AksharYatra | অক্ষরযাত্রা | 2016

The 21st of February is International Mother Language Day and to commemorate this occasion, I cycled from Kolkata, India to Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2016. This was my first international adventure program.

I initiated and organized this project to show respect to the language martyrs of Bangladesh. I led a team of six up to Dhaka on our cycles. Renowned Bengali author and social worker Mr. Kamal Chakrabarty named the project ‘AksharYatra – অক্ষরযাত্রা’ and popular artist Mr. Partha Pratim Das designed the logo.

This program still continues every year organized by different people and organizations. You can easily find them and join! Or better yet, go solo.
